Guy, Sarah and Ella Pacurar, Proprietors
Born and raised in Del Mar, California, Guy successfully managed a small company in San Diego for twenty years before his daughter, Taylor, inspired him to fulfill a lifelong dream and purchase an inn. The ensuing twelve-month search took him to twenty-nine inns in five states before he visited California’s North Coast and found the Brewery Gulch Inn. In August of 2007, he became the second owner of this iconic Mendocino property. Not long after relocating, the stars aligned and Guy met and married Sarah Schoeneman. Convinced to sell her real estate company in Berkeley, Sarah moved to Mendocino, married this itinerant innkeeper and joined Mendo Realty. In 2012, their family expanded when Ella Mac came along.
Guy, Sarah and Ella look forward to welcoming each new guest into the BGI fold and helping to create memories that will last a lifetime.
Steven Smith, General Manager
Originally from Southern California, Steven and his family were regular visitors to the Mendocino coast in the 1970s and 80s. After college, his background in history and museum studies lead him to Boston where he spent the next twenty years as a curator at Harvard University. Ten years ago, he moved to Mendocino and began a new career in the hospitality industry.
Steven’s guest-centered focus and outgoing nature made him the ideal choice to join the Inn as manager in 2013.
Together with his partner, Bill, Steven spends his free time pursing his passion in cooking and his interest in the Rat Pack.
We invite you to come experience our Northern California Inn where you can enjoy the charm of Mendocino and the many offerings of the nearby Anderson Valley wine country.
What people are saying
Your inn is like coming home. Thank you for arranging the fly fishing expedition for my husband. It turned out to be a great story and one that will only get better with the telling. Your staff was so gracious to clean and dry his clothes.
– The Sweeneys
The care you show in every detail of your inn made our weekend very special.
