The kitchen draws primarily on local farmers and purveyors, using organically grown fruit and vegetables, free-range poultry and livestock, and fresh-caught fish. During mushroom season local foragers deliver to the kitchen door, and a heritage garden planted in 2009 at Ferrington Vineyards in the Anderson Valley supplies seasonal produce.

The coffee is a special blend crafted by Thanksgiving Coffee, a local Mendocino roaster. A large selection of coffees and teas sits on the sidebar in the Great Room alongside fresh pastries and fruit.

A full dinner service is not offered, and the evening meal at the inn takes the form of Wine Hour appetizers included with your stay. The Chef's Table is the exception, and private dinners are arranged only for full-house bookings.

Our wellness treatments in Mendocino span massage, private yoga, sound healing, guided forest bathing and a full-day Nourish and Restore experience. Treatments are delivered in collaboration with established local therapists and instructors.

Massages booked within 24 hours of the desired time carry a $25 fee, which is passed directly to the therapist for accommodating the short notice. Massages cancelled within 48 hours of the scheduled time are charged a 50% cancellation fee.

Yes, private yoga runs with local certified instructor Sara Bassindale, drawing on Qi Gong, Tibetan Yoga and Energy Medicine techniques. A 1-hour session is $150 for 1 or 2 people, with an additional $45 charged per further person.

A 1-hour sound healing session combines gentle breathing while lying down with the sounds of flutes, drums, gongs, free notes, chimes, crystals and Tibetan bowls. It is priced at $190 for 1 or 2 people, with an additional $45 per further person.

Nourish and Restore is a guided day combining a conversation on hydration and nervous system support, restorative yoga on our ocean-view deck, a chef-prepared lunch in the Great Room, breathwork and meditation, a sound healing session and an afternoon of forest bathing in Van Damme State Park. It is priced at $295 per person including lunch.

A cancellation fee of 50% applies to any wellness activity cancelled within 48 hours of the scheduled time. This covers massage, private yoga, sound healing, Shinrin-Yoku and Nourish and Restore alike.

We specialize in elopements and vow renewals rather than large weddings, which suits the scale of the property. Our Mendocino elopement packages cover the ceremony, celebrant, flowers and photography for a celebration built around the two of you.

Two packages are available:

• Simply Beautiful, $1,900 for just the two of you, with the ceremony at the inn, a celebrant, flowers including bridal bouquet and boutonniere, and a photographer for 1 hour with photos
• Deluxe, $3,400 for up to 4 additional friends or family, adding a photographer for 1.5 hours, hair and makeup, a 5-inch custom cake, Roederer sparkling wine and a couples 60-minute Swedish massage

Yes, a two-night minimum stay is required for both elopement packages. Packages are selected during the online booking process or when you book your accommodation directly with the inn.

Our resident interfaith celebrant crafts a ceremony tailored to your style. Flowers come from a local florist's own gardens and a local photographer captures the day.

Handfasting is a Celtic tradition dating back more than 2,000 years and is used here to reaffirm your commitment. The package is $1,490 and includes your celebrant, a photographer, flowers, a Celtic pastry and sparkling wine.

A videographer and a ceremony held at an Anderson Valley vineyard sit outside the Deluxe package. Both are arranged directly through the inn at an additional cost.

Yes, the inn positions itself as a romantic getaway Mendocino couples choose for its scale and quiet, and it is described on our own policy pages as a romantic destination for couples. No, the inn is not set up to accommodate pets. Our team is happy to recommend a nearby boarding facility with in-and-out privileges instead.

Families with children are accommodated in the Meadowview Suite, which holds up to 4 guests. The inn is a romantic destination for many couples, and guests travelling with children are asked to keep that in mind.

A deposit equal to the first night's stay plus tax is required at the time of booking to confirm your reservation. It is charged to the credit card held on file.

For cancellations made 14 days or more before arrival, a service charge of $50 is deducted from your deposit and the balance is refunded to the card on file. With less than 14 days' notice you remain responsible for any room nights the inn is unable to re-rent.

Flowers are offered as a large mixed bouquet at $95 or one dozen roses at $85, and a range of wines is available in the room on arrival.
